Thirsty Curses

About The Artist

Thirsty Curses is an eclectic rock ‘n roll band from Raleigh, NC. Since its formation in 2017, Thirsty Curses has released four studio albums (Holy Moly (2017), All Shook Up (2018), Thirsty Curses (2019), and To the Ends of the Earth (2022)) as well as a handful of independent singles and over a dozen extremely impressive DIY music videos. Through the Daze is a best-of compilation and retrospective of Thirsty Curses’ material to date, which is exclusively available on 12″ vinyl via Fake Chapter Records. Through the Daze contains fourteen remastered Thirsty Curses classics including “Bruises On Your Shoulders”, “Exile”, “Nothing Really Matters”, “Smash/Hit”, “Dimlit Cathedral” and “Racing Through the Daze”.

Frontman and songwriter Wilson Getchell and bassist/videographer Clayton Herring have anchored the project since 2017, alongside a rotating cast of lead guitarists and drummers. Thirsty Curses draws from a wide array of influences and rock subgenres including punk, alt-country, garage rock, power pop and classic rock to form its own distinct and unique sound. Thirsty Curses’ songs are both impassioned and sardonic; comical and foreboding, often dealing with heavy subjects but generally feature a humorous nudge and wink to the audience. As Yes! Weekly wrote, “Thirsty Curses make rock’n’roll, with a boisterous beer-swilling edge to it. Many of these songs are about living it up while things fall apart at the seams, or at least trying to find some glory in chaos and meaninglessness.” Thirsty Curses has drawn comps to bands such The Replacements, Deer Tick, Wilco, The Hold Steady, Modest Mouse, Against Me!, and the Old 97s.
